Nastya and Anya were normal young women leading their lives until an unexpected turn of events altered everything. In the autumn of 2025, a highly hazardous toxin was stolen from a clandestine laboratory and recklessly dispersed across the city by foolish thieves. The subsequent mutations resulted in the population transforming into zombies and monsters. The epidemic rapidly proliferated, yielding gargantuan zombies.

The overwhelming numbers of non-humans left the military reeling from staggering losses. Cityscapes morphed into forsaken wastelands teeming with zombies, impeding even armored patrols with tanks from venturing forth.

As human numbers dwindled by the day, the government resolved to establish sanctuaries as the sole recourse to shield the surviving populace from the encroaching undead. Within these havens, scientists toiled on developing a vaccine to cure infections and stave off a full-fledged zombie invasion.

Standing at the suburban crossroads, Nastya and Anya were perusing an evacuation notice plastered on a billboard when they stumbled upon a lurking zombie in the bushes. Seizing them off guard, it lunged at Anya before Nastya subdued it. Tragically, Anya had been bitten and was now infected—her transformation into a zombie inevitable with time ticking away until they reached safety.
